I've got my visa, I've booked my flight...

...and in October I'm going to Austraila........for a week!  My sister lives over there and is expecting twins in a few weeks time - the first people in a new generation for our family.  It's a long way to go for a short time but I can't wait to see my sister and my little niecelets!

Yay! Being an auntie is the greatest thing. I am getting this Old Kooky Aunt thing down very well. I love being the person who comes by to read with them or bring them books.

Excellent! I'm really looking forward to it and the thought of sitting and reading with them one day is a lovely one. I'm sad that they'll be so far away from me, but I cheer myself up by hoping it will make me seem exotic!

That's cool--the first of a new generation!! Yeah, my grandma is v excited about becoming a great-grandma!
I'm going to NSW - I travelled a little in Australia last year but Sydney is the place I know best. I want to be the first person to take my niecelets to the opera house!
