In [livejournal.com profile] ds_con_envy  news....

[profile] lucifuge_5  asked for F/K established relationship with the prompt "and now the other...".  I included a Sudoku-solving Dief and wrote One Man's Sweet Is Another Man's Poison for her.

I asked for any happy sort of F/K or gen story. Prompt: "Delusions of grandeur? More like delusions of adequacy." and [livejournal.com profile] alex51324  wrote me a fantastic snippet, Delusions Of Grandeur, where the boys finally buy a clue.

Plus, seekrit message to [livejournal.com profile] luzula  - thank you for the lovely postcard!

Giving out leaflets to my class today about a sports playscheme week over the Easter holidays, I noticed one of the activities was 'New Age Kurling.'  I can't decide whether Fraser would be delighted at the idea of children discovering the joys of curling or whether the 'K' would make him sad.......

Happy 11th March, everyone!

♥ Happy Birthday, Vee! ♥

It has been such a pleasure getting to know you. Your comments, your writing and most of all your friendship are a real source of joy for me and I wish you a truly happy year ahead. ♥ ♥ ♥

(A while ago you made this post - and later mentioned your hope that it would inspire some fic from someone. You may not have been hoping for something quite as silly as this, but....

Just to try and collect everything in one place, I'm posting links to two fics I've written recently - for [livejournal.com profile] nolimbs4u , the birthday com for the splendid [livejournal.com profile] nos4a2no9 and [livejournal.com profile] ds_con_envy . They are dark tales of woe and despair...hang on, that's not right!

Ray Lends A Hand...And A Leg...Or Two was written for nos....so it features artificial limbs. Obviously.

[livejournal.com profile] hyperfocused gave me the prompt "It doesn't taste anything like chicken!" for con_envy which inspired You Are What You Eat - another day in the squadroom for Fraser, Ray and Dief.

The library van came to school this afternoon.  I never get long and always have to choose my books in a bit of a rush (sometimes it would be so useful if you really could judge a book by its cover).  This afternoon, however, one particular title caught my eye.

This term, my class library book box will include a copy of Dolphin Boy!

I’m not generally a loyal listener to any particular radio station when I drive and this morning, when I was flicking through the radio channels to see what was on, I heard the due South theme! It was being played as part of a TV theme quiz on a local station and the dj gave a clue that this was “a 90’s cuddly TV series from the States”.  I rolled my metaphorical eyes – I needed to keep my actual eyes on the road – and then he went straight to an ad break which started appropriately enough with “Are you looking for romance?” It made me smile despite the traffic jam.

leafy: (ds1)
I went to the garden centre to buy my Christmas tree and I chose a Fraser fir. (Hurray!)  While she was netting it for me, the garden centre lady told me that the trees had arrived in the dark, but she could tell they were Frasers straight away because they were bent and "Frasers are like that." (Double Hurray!)

It's not easy to knit and read at the same time so I decided to give [profile] podslash a try...and it's great!
I wondered if it would be weird hearing the stories without the sounds of the character voices that you can sort of do in your head as you read to yourself but it isn't at all.  I'm only clicking and playing at the moment rather than actually downloading so it's really easy - and I haven't dropped any stiches!
\o/ for the most excellent [personal profile] zabira[profile] slidellraand [personal profile] general_jinjur for reading, writing and hosting!
