New Leaf On The Tree
A daughter.
Great Scott – a daughter!
I thought our family tree had withered. I thought it would end with Benton. He won’t make a branch of his own – I may be dead but I’m not blind! He’s made his choice and, as happy as I hope it makes him, there’ll be no offspring there.
Benton. Benton has a sister. That’s good. I hope she’ll be better family for him than I’ve ever been.
And Maggie. My daughter. She’s had her heart broken but she’s young and strong. She may learn to may love again and this next generation may turn out to be a beginning rather than an end. A new branch on the Fraser family tree? It’s a possibility. But for now, at least, it’s nice just to have a new leaf.....
