Dear flist...

It's a year today since I de-lurked and set up my lj. Being rather a shy person I was quite nervous - will this be another area for me to feel socially awkward? - but I'm so glad I did it even if I still flounder a bit from time to time. I'd like to thank you all for your news, stories, photos, lists, podfic, comments and everything else that's made my first year here so enjoyable. To mark this day, I've learnt how to make you some little hearts.  Here they are!

I'm so glad you delurked. You caught my attention during ds_aprilfools, which was a fantastic way to introduce your lovely self to the world. I like your sweet way with people, and I like your stories about your little nieces, and I like your photos of your crafts. Happy anniversary!

Thank you for all your kind comments! Looking back aprilfools was an *insane* thing to do and I'm not entirely comfortable now with everything I wrote then, but it was a great way to start to get to know people.

I saw my little nieces on skype last night, lying on their mat and rolling, kicking and being noisy. My sister showed me their passports ready for coming over here soon and my BiL had been to the consulate to get his visa sorted. I know there won't have been any Mounties in a British consulate in Australia but thanks to dS I can't even hear the word 'consulate' these days without smiling...!

I might post a photo of the bag I made as a birthday gift this week. It's a 'toast purse' complete with a re-positionable smiley fried egg badge!

PS. I'm glad you're starting to feel a little better. Take it easy.
