Reasons to miss April - 1,2,3...

Weirdly, I found myself missing aprilfools for the first few days of May.
I didn't miss the stress of 'what's my idea today-what time is it-can I get this written and posted?' but I did feel as if there was something missing - I suppose 30 days is plenty of time to form a habit! My mind was completely blank of any fic ideas as soon as I'd posted on April 30th, but I've got an idea growing now for ds_shakespeare that's longer and more complex than anything I've written so far - although it's already moving away from the original prompt - so I reckon I'll need someone to beta for me this time.
definitely miss aprilfools for the reading - guaranteed new fic every day! - but I'm enjoying going back and re-reading some of them as well as some older (and often longer) favourites without having the writing pressure in the background.
And another reason to miss April is that May in school is just sucky. Tests, tests and more tests - aaargh!

Don't worry, I miss April too! It's almost as though I can't remember what I used to do with my time before I needed to come home and panic about writing something. I'm sorry school sucks though. I'm sure getting several hundred(?) children through their exams is not fun.

Want me to beta the [livejournal.com profile] ds_shakespeare thing when you're done? I could use a beta for one of my three prompts too, if you feel like reciprocating. Feel free to email me (kill_claudio AT hotmail.co.uk) if you want to bounce ideas off someone.

OMG I couldn't cope with several hundred children! My class don't have to do their all their tests in the same week like the older children do, but the stress of it all hangs in the air as tangibly as the smell of our healthy(!) school dinners.
I try and shield my children from it as much as possible - because don't even get me started on the wrongness of getting six and seven year olds stressed about exams - and make everything as normal and relaxed as I can for my class.
Then they go home and their parents sit them down with practise papers and make them recite times tables that they don't understand! *sigh*

Thank you so much for your beta offer - I didn't mention that it's going to be slightly au-ish and will probably contain some essential-to-the-story (honest!) smut - so I hope you're still interested! I'll email you when I've got something readable down on paper screen if you are. And I'm more than happy to return the favour!

They're making seven year olds take exams now? God that is deeply wrong. When I was at school they waited until we were eleven, and it doesn't feel like that long ago. Go you for helping them relax about it!

I love AU's, and smut is great - just email me when you're ready. The deadline's only a vague thing, nothing to worry about. My own three fics are 1)Fraser/Kowalski, NC-17, more smut than plot, really. It involves bondage and possibly dildos, so if that's a squick for you then you can choose between 2) a Dief-centric piece that is going to read a bit like a fairytale and involve a bit of Fraser-Vecchio in the background, or 3) A looooooong and involved plotty first-time Fraser/Kowalski that I suspect will never actually get finished. I'd only ask you to beta one, obviously, and hit up my flist for a beta for the other two. When they are finally finished...*sigh*
